MOSCOW (AP) - Russian news agencies say President Dmitry Medvedev is proposing that European leaders come to Moscow for a weekend natural gas summit.

Medvedev's proposal on Wednesday appeared to indicate that no immediate solution is in sight for the dispute between Russia and Ukraine that has blocked the shipment of most Russian gas to Europe for more than a week.

The ITAR-Tass and Interfax news agencies reported that Medvedev made the proposal during a meeting with the prime ministers of Bulgaria, Slovakia and Moldova, who depend on Russia for almost all their gas.
